Earlier this month, Yamaha inducted nine of its ATV, side-by-side, dirt bike and road racing titleholders to its Wall of Champions. The ceremony for the event was held at its office in Cypress, California, with 11 championships acknowledged during the event.

Racers honored at the event includes 2016 AMA Pro ATV Motocross champion Chad Wienen and 2016 GNCC XC1 ATV champion Walker Fowler. For the first time ever, two professional off-road side-by-side racers were inducted for championships they each won aboard YXZ1000Rs in its debut racing year, with Corry Weller received a Wall of Champions plaque for her TORC Series Pro Stock UTV championship, while Dustin Nelson was inducted for his two Lucas Oil Regional Off-Road Series championships in regional series for Southern California and Arizona.

Motorcycle racers honored at the event include 2016 MotoAmerica Superbike champion Cameron Beaubier, 2016 MotoAmerica Supersport champion Garrett Gerloff, 2016 MotoAmerica Superstock 1000 champion Josh Herrin, MotoAmerica Superstock 600 champion Bryce Prince, and Cooper Webb for winning both the 2016 AMA 250cc Supercross West championship and the AMA 250cc Motocross championship.

Aside from recognizing Yamaha racers, the day also included the presentation of giant check to Feed the Children for $56,155.50. Yamaha raises money for Feed the Children through employee donations, special dealer fundraising activities, and direct corporate donations from Yamaha’s customer satisfaction team. Yamaha says its Customer Satisfaction Survey program makes a donation for each survey returned by a Yamaha Motorsports customer. Over the past two decades, Yamaha says it has raised more than $5 million in cash and supplies for Feed the Children.

Yamaha also paid tribute to Dennis McNeal, Vice President of Motorcycle Operations for Yamaha, who is retiring after 38 years with Yamaha.
