Thor Motorworks, provider of conversion and restoration services for Mercedes-Benz G-Class vehicles, recently announced the release of its new G-Glass coil springs. The new springs will provide G-Wagen owners with a 1.5-inch (40mm) lift to accommodate larger wheel and tire combinations while maintaining better than factory performance.
Thor Motorworks says its G-Class Springs are designed from the ground up for the proper balance of form and function. The springs are made in the U.S. with 100% shot-peened, high-tensile strength chrome silicon. Finished in a Mercedes-Benz racing powder coating, the springs greatly improve ride height and of-road capability.
“The variable rate spring was designed with a continuous diameter, then precisely adjusted after heavy testing for the perfect distance between coils,” Thor Motorworks says in a press release. “The end result is a factory-quality part with better than factory performance and lifespan.”
The Thor Motorworks G-Class Springs are currently sold exclusively through Viking Ofrroad. The springs are available individually as a set for $649, or as a turn-key kit complete with either Fox Adjustable Racing Shocks ($1,988) or RENNtech Adjustable Shocks ($5,529).
