Addictive Desert Designs (ADD) and Springfield Armory joined forces for an awesome off-road build constructed with a tactical focus – and it’s unlike any other 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor we saw on the SEMA Show floor in 2016.
This Springfield Legacy Raptor highlights the partnership between ADD and Springfield Armory, and it was the only 2017 Raptor in upper off-road truck hall at all. Greg Foutz from ADD, who will be racing a 2017 Raptor at this year’s Baja 1000, explained to us that the truck was built from the ground up with custom parts and ADD add-ons to give the truck a unique look and functionality at the same time.

Outside of the truck, a unique and stylish wrap gives the truck a unique look while also clearing highlighting the partnership of the two brands. ADD put its Honeybadger front and rear bumpers on the truck which are specially armor-plated with AR500 bullet-proof steel. Honeybadger side steps are also fitted on the truck, as is a Honeybadger chase/roof rack combination that includes locking storage.

Underneath the truck, upgraded Fox triple-bypass 3.0 shocks are employed in the rear, along with ADD’s rear bump stop kit, while Fox 3.0 Internal Bypass factory race series coil overs soak up the bumps up front. An ADD intercooler upgrade kit helps give the truck some additional power, and Alcon brakes are found on all four corners to help provide stopping power. Aggressive tires were added for off-road traction, with 35-inch BFG KM2 mud-terrain tires wrapped around Fuel one-piece Recoil wheels.

For added visibility, Rigid’s new Adapt LED light bar is used on the roof rack along with additional  Rigid Industries infrared lighting on the front bumper. The other Rigid Industries lighting found on the truck are the midnight edition.

The outside of the Springfield Legacy Raptor looks cool, but the real story is what’s inside – firepower, and lots of it. The front passenger seat is outfitted with a firearm mount that holds the new Springfield Saint Ar-15. The driver doesn’t get left out, however, as there is a mount under the steering wheel that holds a Springfield XDM. There is a dual mount in the glovebox holding a Springfield 1911 along with a Springfield XD hand gun. In the back seat is a firearms box that houses a Springfield XDS and a Springfield M1A, and there’s also a mount on the back side of both front seats that each hold additional Springfield Saint AR-15s. The lockable firearms mounts and boxes are all made by Foutz Motorsports.

The tactical theme of the Springfield Legacy Raptor blends the worlds of firearms enthusiasts and off-roading, which was made possible in many ways by Foutz, who not only was able to gain access to a Raptor early enough to work with Springfield and ADD on the build, but he was also able to convince Ford the firearm connection would be done in a responsible manner. The end result is a truck that beautifully blends the worlds of firearm enthusiasts and off-roaders, and it is definitely one of the coolest trucks we’ve seen at this year’s show.
