CRANDON, WISC. – Adding even more firepower to an action-packed schedule, Crandon International Raceway has added two PRO UTV classes for the Labor Day weekend Off-Road World Championships. The announcement not only incorporates the recently added 1000cc TORC PRO Stock and PRO Mod UTVs to Saturday’s schedule, but also to Sunday’s Crandon World Cup event, part of the Red Bull Signature Series.

The news adds an additional dimension for the growing UTV motorsports scene, with TORC competitors wrapping up the third and final race weekend of their inaugural season on Saturday, September 3rd. On Sunday, Crandon International will crown World Championship titles to both the PRO Stock UTV and PRO Mod UTV winners, along with special World Cup trophies and a soon-to-be-disclosed cash and prize purse.

New for 2016 is the highly anticipated Crandon World Cup. Hosted and promoted by Crandon International Raceway, the event has been created to attract the world’s best off-road racers and teams to compete for coveted Crandon World Championship in a variety of PRO-level classes. Highlights of the event will be brought to an international mainstream audience as part of the Red Bull Signature Series – both via a live webcast on RedBull.TV and as a special 90-minute highlight program scheduled for airing on Sat., Oct. 8 at 2pm EST on NBC.

Known for hosting the oldest and most prestigious stadium-style off-road races in the world, Crandon International’s 47th annual Off-Road World Championship will be unlike any in the track’s colorful history. From the new Crandon World Cup/TORC PRO Open Testing on Thursday, September 1st to two packed days of TORC PRO and Sportsman racing to Sunday afternoon’s dramatic 7th annual AMSOIL Cup finale – the sport’s richest race – 2016 at Crandon International promises to be something special for fans, drivers and teams.

In recent years, the incredible growth of the high-performance UTV industry has revolutionized the entire off-road industry, with new entries from Polaris, Yamaha, Arctic Cat, Can-Am, Kawasaki and others raising the stakes at an impressive pace. Naturally, racing these highly-capable machines was a natural evolution of the movement, and now there are UTV-centric events around the world.

UTV racers interested in competing in the Crandon Off-Road World Championships will run under TORC regulations, and will need to hold or obtain a current USAC license. Specially designated Crandon International Raceway officials will work with TORC officials to insure that all competitors stay strictly within the production-based spirit of the rules.
