BARK RIVER, Michigan — CJ Greaves swept another weekend in both PRO 2WD and PRO 4WD racing at Bark River International Raceway as TORC: The Off-Road Championship presented by AMSOIL moved into the Upper Peninsula for Throwdown in the U.P.

In Atturo Tire PRO Light, Kyle Kleiman dominated two days of competition, while Tim Farr and Jason Luburgh came out on top in the new PRO UTV classes.

PRO 4WD
CJ Greaves continued to write history books with his eighth-straight PRO 4WD win and his eighth career PRO 4WD/PRO 2WD weekend sweep. This event, however, is the first time he won every race he started in two consecutive weekends. Johnny Greaves finished second and Scott Douglas took third.

“You know, it’s unbelievable,” CJ Greaves said, regarding another weekend sweep. “It means we’ve got a killer crew behind us and a killer team.”

Chad Hord started the race strong with a holeshot from third place. The Felch, Michigan, native stretched his lead to nearly three seconds over Johnny Greaves but a bad jump landing on the last lap before the mandatory caution took out his right rear tire. Johnny Greaves assumed the lead at the stripe, followed by his son CJ Greaves.

On the restart, Johnny Greaves kept the lead until two laps to go when fuel system issues slowed his pace, allowing the younger Greaves to pass and race to the finish line for the victory.

“I think I kinda got a gimme on that one,” said CJ Greaves after the race. “My dad seemed to have some problems all of the sudden and just slowed down. I ended up tangling with him once and from there, we knew that he had a little bit of an issue. But, we’ll take them all! Eight in a row is unbelievable.”

PRO 2WD
It was the seventh PRO 2WD victory of the season for defending champion CJ Greaves as he took the checkered flag more than 2.5 seconds ahead of Keegan Kincaid. Rounding out the top three was Mike Jenkins in his first weekend back in the class.

Greaves, the 21-year-old two-time title holder, said he has the same goal for every race: get to the front. “We just take it one lap at a time,” he said. “This track is unbelievably slick and polished up, and this PRO 2WD is pretty unreal. It can go out in the cushion or down low, and I think Keegan and I were running really tight out there.”

Greaves started sixth but quickly moved up to second as early race leader Rodney Van Eperen ran off the track with transmission issues. Kincaid inherited the lead and held off Greaves until the last lap before the mandatory caution.

On the restart, the two race leaders broke away from the pack with unmatched pace. Taking an inside line, Greaves managed to make a clean pass on Kincaid and extended his lead all the way to the checkered flag.

Atturo Tire PRO Light
Kyle Kleiman swept the weekend in the Atturo Tire PRO Light class at Bark River with another top-step finish on Sunday. The four-time class winner held a comfortable lead throughout the race thanks to an intense battle for second place as Travis Dinsmore and points-leader Kyle Hart fought fender-to-fender from beginning to end.

“I’ve just been working on my consistency, that’s about it,” said Kleiman. “Any of these guys out here are good enough to jump on any mistake I make. I try to be smooth and follow my lines.”

Kleiman started in pole position, took the holeshot and never looked back. Luke Johnson followed in second, but faded out of the top three while Dinsmore and Hart took their battle past the reigning event winner.

After the competition yellow, Kleiman once again pulled away as Hart and Dinsmore continued their fight. The two traded paint and exchanged positions numerous times, but it was Dinsmore who ultimately crossed the finish line in second place.
