Toyo Tires offered up its newest video featuring its Open Country M/T tires fitted on a unique off-road rig by Action Vehicle Engineering. With its team driver BJ Baldwin behind the wheel, the King Shock-equipped modified 1959 British Ferret 4X4 military scout vehicle tackles a wide variety of terrain. The video, titled ‘The Ferret,’ is designed by the Toyo Tires crew to “prove that Toyo Tires Open Country tires are capable of taking any vehicle across every terrain,” but you’ll simply appreciate the crazy-looking rig tackling a little bit of everything, including forests, deserts, sand hills and water crossings.
Action Vehicle Engineering put a lot of work into tweaking the British Ferret 4X4, which is fitted with six custom wheels fitted with Toyo Tires Open Country M/Ts, all of which are powered by hydraulic motors operated from inside the vehicle. The modified suspension features King shocks to allow ‘The Ferret’ to travel rough terrain and conquer obstacles with ease. For some additional performance in the off-road world, a Chevrolet LS engine was installed in the rear of the rig.
The coolest part for he British Ferret has to be the custom-built launcher, which is fitted with a grappling hook that is attached to a winch cable – and it gets put to good use in the video. Check out the new Toyo Tires video below and all of Baldwin’s shenanigans in the uniquely cool Ferret.
