Casey Folks, director of the World’s Leading Off Road Racing organization Best in the Desert, announced that this year’s 20th Anniversary Vegas to Reno is going to be HUGE. In order to make the 20th running of the “Longest Off-Road Race in the United States” even more exciting, Folks has turned this iconic race into a two race-day event, that could feature more than 300 of the world’s fastest off-road racers. Deemed by racers as one of their favorite events, the General Tire Vegas to Reno The Long Way presented by FOX, runs August 17-20, 2016.
Since Best in the Desert’s previous memorable staged events, The Race Into the Millennium, the 2000 Nevada “2000”, the 2002 Nevada “1000” and the 2005 McMillin Nevada “1000” and the last 2009 Vegas to Reno The Long Way, people have done nothing but talk about those events and ask, “When are we going to promote a staged event again?”
It’s very hard to do; emotionally, mentally and physically, but Best In The Desert is up to the challenge and we hope you are too! Remember, you need to race this event now because you never know when you will have the opportunity to do it again; 2016 is the year for a great two-day staged event! This is the chance to join an elite group of off-road desert racers and the entire Best In The Desert crew to race the General Tire Vegas to Reno- The Long Way!!! presented by FOX. Come celebrate our freedom, our sport, and the privilege to race over 600 miles across the State of Nevada!
The 2016 running of the 20th Anniversary General Tire Vegas to Reno The Long Way presented by FOX has the leading off-road race teams gathering in Las Vegas as they prepare to match their skills against some of the most unforgiving terrain in the world. It will feature an extremely challenging point-to-point course that only Casey Folks can create.
