Best In The Desert, the world’s largest off-road desert racing organization, announced that more than 200 race teams have already signed up for the Method Race Wheels Laughlin Desert Classic presented by Canidae Tap It, running May 4-8, 2016.  With just days remaining to sign up for the race, Casey Folks, director of Best In The Desert said, “We now have 30 Trick Trucks, 14 Class 1500 unlimited cars, 15 class 1000s and 26 Class 6100 Spec Engine Trick Trucks registered to race. The UTV classes combined have 54 entries.” Casey continued to say, “This Inaugural Laughlin race will be one for the record books. Interest is high in competing in this special racecourse.  The racecourse will feature several miles of new desert terrain that has never before been utilized in a Laughlin racing event. From the “Parade of Champions” on Wednesday, May 4, thru the final heat race on Sunday May 8, the action and excitement will never slow down. If you are part of the off-road racing nation, you don’t want to miss out being a part in this new chapter of desert racing history.

DON’T MISS THE PARADE OF CHAMPIONS
Starting Wednesday, May 4th, around 4 pm we will kick off the event with a Parade of Champions! Some very awesome race vehicles will be parading down Casino Blvd. Then at the end of the Parade, the Method Race Wheels World Championship Pit Stop Challenge will take place at the Golden Nugget front parking area. We invite you to come to this exciting race weekend in May. The weather will be perfect, and the town is a great place to help us celebrate a new race! Come to Laughlin early to participate in all of the early race festivities!

Azunia Tequila, Camburg Engineering, and Method Race Wheels have teamed up for a very special Party Wednesday night, May 4th at the Golden Nugget after the Pit Stop Challenge. Jim Riley from Azunia Tequila said, “In celebration of the new Laughlin Desert Classic event that Casey is putting on, Azunia Tequila and my friends at Camburg Engineering and Method Race wheels are hosting a Post Pit Stop Challenge Bash to celebrate the event. Riley continued, “In addition, we are giving to each entry in the 6100 class a bottle of our superb Azunia 2013 Reposado De AgaveTequila to say thanks for participating in this exciting class. The race team and Azunia are showing their appreciation for all 6100 teams that have been formed to race in this class.” The 6100 class was originally started by Greg Foutz and Jim Riley with early support from Jerry Zaiden at Camburg Racing. In just a few short years this has become one of the hottest classes. ” It is due to the dedication of the community and love for this sport that we have all come together for some top racing action in 6100,” Riley said. “Cheers to everyone involved from Azunia Racing and Camburg Engineering.”

TIME TRIALS & TEAM FORD POLE AWARD
Once again, our friend in racing, Steve Olliges from Team Ford, will sponsor the TEAM FORD POLE AWARD. Given to the FASTEST OVERALL Time Trial Qualifier on Thursday, May 5th, the winner walks away with the Title of the Fastest Qualifier, but also an awesome trophy and $1000 in cash!

WELCOME BBQ
The Laughlin Desert Classic Time Trials will be followed by an awesome Method Race Wheels Welcome BBQ at the Main Pit parking area.

TENSOR TIRE FAMILY POKER RUN
This event will be run on Friday, May 6th. You must be pre-entered and go to registration at the E Center from 8–10 am, and you must leave the start line no later than 10:30 am, so be prepared early Friday morning. YOU MUST BE IN A STOCK UTV.  NO RACE UTVs ARE ALLOWED on the Tensor Tire Family Poker Run.
