– Brian Deegan extended his streak of consecutive podiums this season to four in a row after rounds 3 and 4 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park in Lake Elsinore, CA. Deegan loves coming to his home track in Lake Elsinore, and his performance showed it. Deegan’s NOS Energy Drink / Mickey Thompson Tires / Ford Raptor was fast right out of the box; he qualified third for Saturday’s round 3. After the inversion, Deegan would start on row 2 right behind Rob Mac.

After the green flag dropped, Deegan was running second with Rob Mac out front. After several laps with no change to the top order, Deegan cut a tire and had to duck into the hot pits. With a bit of luck, a caution flag came out slowing the pace. Thanks to a blistering fast 30 second tire change by the NOS crew, Deegan was back out; still on the lead lap but at the tail end of the field. With only 3 laps to go, Deegan put his head down and shot through the field.

In short course competition, there is no hesitation. If you back out of the throttle, you get passed. Deegan’s Mickey Thompson tires might have hooked up better, or Menzies might have checked up, but the two got together as Menzies was out of shape in a corner. Menzies spun and Deegan went on to a podium finish. His charge from last to third was awesome to witness. When qualifying for round 4, Deegan was third fastest again and was running third on lap one of the race on Sunday. He went on to have a flawless race; finishing back on the podium in second place.

While Deegan does not give an inch on the track, he is very giving off of it. In support of Sandals Church in Riverside, California, and their work with the poor, he donated his custom Jesse James, West Coast Customs Choppers motorcycle. Raffle tickets were sold during the weekend, with proceeds going to the church, and the winner was drawn after the Pro-2 race on Sunday. The raffle was a huge success. The winner, Mark Herman, himself a Christian, was speechless after winning the custom black chopper. Brian Deegan is very thankful for all the blessings he has received in life and works hard every chance he gets to support children’s causes and to brighten the lives of those around him.

Deegan will be missing a few rounds due to GRC (Global Rally Cross) but will have a chance to keep his podium streak alive when the NOS Energy / Mickey Thompson Tires / Ford Raptor is back in the dirt for rounds 9 and 10 at Glen Helen.
