The BlueRibbon Coalition recently announced it was contacted by some its members regarding rumors that a land transfer bill, H.R. 2733, might include portions of the Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Moon Rocks in the Hungry Valley OHV Area near Reno, Nevada. BLM members were reportedly concerned with the bill and its possible inclusion of this area, which would result in the closure of the area.
BlueRibbon Coalition contacted both the BLM and Congressional Representatives to ascertain if, in fact, there were any impacts to legal OHV recreation at Hungry Valley, Moon Rocks, an area well known for catering to a variety of off-road vehicles, including dirt bikes, ATVs, trucks, SUVs and Jeeps.
BRC has obtained a map that more clearly defines the project area and has since sent it out (which you can check out below). The BlueRibbon Coalition sent out a statement recently saying it will continue to monitor the issue and will report back when it receives more information next week.
