After the recent XP1K3, off-road racer RJ Anderson is now three videos deep in the XP1K series produced by Mad Media. In each video he pilots a heavily-modified Polaris RZR XP 1000 through a different off-road playground of jumps, obstacles and custom-built ramps. But regardless of how cool the final version of the video looks, make no mistake that Anderson and the filming crew have their share of bloopers and funny outtakes – not every stunt goes according to plan.
Mad Media recently unveiled a new video from the XP1K3 filming called the “Sound and Fury,”providing a behind-the-scenes look at “the crashes and failures when testing a scene.” When trying to pull off grinds and wall rides like a skateboarder in a RZR side-by-side, it’s safe to assume some tricks aren’t going to be pulled off on the first attempt.
According to Mad Media, the XP1K series has captured more than 16 million views across YouTube, Facebook and Instagram in over 70 different countries. For the newest film, the Mad Media team says it put more than a year of planning and development into XP1K3. The build team consisted of 15 people, and it took more than a month to weld, stack, cut, bend and fabricate the custom playground in the video. The actual filming of XP1K3 took two weeks, with a crew of 40 battling the elements to capture all of the action.
