Minneapolis – The 2016 race season started out in Parker, Arizona, with the THR Motorsports Parker 250 presented by Polaris and continued with WORCS Round 1 at Honolulu Hills Park, in Taft, California.
The Parker 250 would see more than 50 side-by-sides line up, with more than half being RZRs, for the first race of the season. Polaris Factory Racer Justin Lambert of Cognito Motorsports would line up his No. 1918 RZR XP 4 1000 in the UTV Pro Class and not only take that class but the overall, beating the turbo vehicles in the UTV Pro Turbo class. RZRs would sweep the podium in the Pro Class.
Honolulu Hills Park, in Taft, Calif., would kick off the WORCS Racing Season for 2016. Polaris Factory Racer Beau Baron would do double duty racing and winning both the SxS Pro class in his RZR XP 1000 and the SxS Pro Unlimited class in his RZR XP Turbo. RZRs would sweep the podiums in both classes with Polaris Factory Racer Ryan Piplic taking third in the SxS Pro Unlimited class.
Honolulu Hills also would be the start of single-seat racing in WORCS. For the first round, the class was limited to 600ccs. Polaris Factory Racer Ronnie Anderson would line up his Polaris ACE 570 SP that he raced last year and win the class.
The next BITD Race is the Polaris RZR UTV World Championship, Feb. 18-20, in Laughlin, Nev. The next WORCS race is Buffalo Bills, in Primm, Nev., Jan. 29-31.
