Wily spy photographers have struck again, this time capturing a 2018 Ford Expedition being tested.
It appears that the test model is equipped with a Ford F-150 front end and cab. We suspect it will have some unique styling by the time it is ready for dealer showrooms. The F-150 front end was likely chosen because the body panels on the new Expedition will be made of aluminum, which will help it lose some weight.
While we can’t see under the hood, Ford’s 3.5-liter EcoBoost turbocharged V67 seems a likely choice. A more fuel efficient 2.7-liter EcoBoost may also be on the menu.
We imagine the interior of the Expedition will share much in common with the F-150, including the use of the Sync 3 infotainment system.
Look for the 2018 Ford Expedition to make its official debut in 2017, along with a new Lincoln Navigator.
