Fifty rock racers and all-around off-road maniacs decided to test their mettle (and their rig’s metal) at the 2015 Vision X SRRS vs. ULTRA4 East/West Shootout Presented by Sway-A-Way. The event, referred to as the Shootout at Backdoor last year, was again held in the canyon that is home to challenging ledge at Backdoor. The competition is simple: get your rig through the canyon and up and over the ledge in the shortest amount of time possible.

The majority of drivers were able to complete the challenging sprint course (32 of the 50 reached the finish), but only one would be named the winner. Bobby Tanner posted the fastest time at 22.547 seconds, earning the title of Ultra4 East/West Shootout champion, edging out AJ Rockwell (26.171 seconds) and Bill Baird (26.22 seconds) who finished in second and third, respectively. Ryan Bramhall finished in fourth overall, and he took home the title of fastest driver west of the Mississippi. Alabama native Randall Key was unable to finish the course, but he took home the honor of Crowd Favorite.
