For 2015, Ford has announced a number of new features for the F-150, including a new aluminum body and a smaller 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 option. What it has yet to introduce is the cost for this new model, but all that changed today with the announcement of the 2015 F-150 pricing, which will start as low as $26,615.
For 2015, the F-150 lineup will get a price hike, as the XL and XLT models will increase by $395, with pricing starting at the aforementioned $26,615 or moving to $31,925 for the XLT model. The Lariat models will see a price increase of $895 to a starting point of $39,730. Although Ford does expect 85 percent of its sales to fall into the XL, XLT or Lariat models, the high-end King Rang and Platinum luxury models will also be available on the 2015 F-150, and these models will see the largest price hike of the bunch, as the King Ranch ($52,950) will increase $3,615 and the Platinum ($49,690) will bump up $3,055.
Although the pricing will increase on the 2105 F-150s, Ford notes that the price bumps will also include more standard features than the 2014 models they replace. With the 2015 truck shedding as much as 700 pounds, Ford says its new F-150 will have improved fuel economy, towing capacity, handling, acceleration and braking.
The new F-150 is expected to be in dealers at the end of the year. In the meantime, we will still await word on the performance figures for the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 and the 5.0-liter V8, as well as the fuel economy figures for the new truck. Stay tuned.
