SAN DIEGO — Scenes, sounds, interviews and highlights from last week’s highly-successful Inaugural SCORE Imperial Valley 250 will be showcased in the SCORE spotlight during tonight’s SCORE Dirt LiveHD internet show. Round 2 of the five-race 2014 SCORE World Desert Championship series, the SCORE Imperial Valley 250, was held this past Saturday in Plaster City, Calif.
Celebrating its 41st season in 2014 as the World’s Foremost Desert Racing Organization, this week’s race will be taped for airing in the United States and Canada as a one-hour special on the CBS Sports Network. The first of a minimum of two broadcasts of the race is scheduled to air on Sunday, June 15 at 6 p.m. PT. With several million viewers in nearly 100 countries in 2013, the SCORE Dirt LiveHD one-hour show is broadcast live weekly and the show is anchored in 2014 around the SCORE World Desert Championship series.
Last Saturday’s race was won by San Diego’s third-generation desert racer Andy McMillin. McMillin captured his sixth career SCORE Trophy Truck race win driving Rob MacCachren’s No. 11 Rockstar Energy MacCachren Motorsports Ford F-150. MacCachren was racing in the Lucas Oil short-course series and allowed McMillin to pinch hit for him. The pair teamed up for the first time last November to finish second in the 46th Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 in the featured SCORE Trophy Truck division for high-tech, 850-horsepower, unlimited production trucks.
The 2014 season of Dirt LiveHD includes numerous on-site interviews in addition to the shows that are broadcast from the SCORE broadcast studios in El Cajon, Calif., just east of San Diego.
The high definition shows also includes numerous award-winning video highlight packages, most produced by Mexico’s Cactus Films or San Diego’s Tempt Media.
Dirt LiveHD also goes on-site live with expanded event coverage during SCORE events. Live event coverage in 2014 includes the entire five-race 2014 SCORE World Desert Championship series of two races in the United States and three in Baja California, Mexico. The third round of the new SCORE World Desert Championship series will be the upcoming 46th annual Tecate SCORE Baja 500 that will start and finish in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico.
