Ontario, California
– Team ITP racers came away with four class victories and six total podium finishes at the 2014 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country series opening round in Bunnell, Fla. Schoolboy racer Westley Wolfe, who won his class and was the top finishing amateur racer in the 10 a.m. session, highlighted the team’s strong showing at the Mud Mucker GNCC.

“I couldn’t more pleased to see Angel come out of the gate with a win this year after only competing at two rounds a year ago. Her victory, along with Westley Wolfe’s amateur overall and class win is a great way to start 2014,” said Pat McGuire, Public Relations / Race Support. “Despite very muddy conditions, to come out of the race with four class wins and six podiums is a testament to both our racers and the design of ITP tires.”

The big finisher for Team ITP was Wolfe, who garnered $125 for taking the ATV Amateur Overall Award and also won the Schoolboy A/B (12-15) class. Wolfe took second a year ago in the Schoolboy 13-15 ranks, notching six wins and five morning overalls, so being out front is nothing new to the Maryland racer. His time of 2:05:11.9 was more than six minutes better than the second place racer.

Angel (Atwell) Knox, who will compete a full season for ITP in 2014, won the new WMX Women’s Premier Class by more than 11 minutes over the runner-up finisher. The victory was Knox’s first since winning the Women’s class at round 12 in 2012. Taking third in the class was ITP racer Kristen Deloach, who won the Women’s Amateur (15+) class in 2013. Women’s Amateur (13+) competitor Kelley Deloach picked up where here sister left off and notched her first ever GNCC class victory.

Defending Masters (50+) racer Kenny Rich Sr. also had a big day in the Florida muck. Rich, an Ohio resident, registered a time of 2:24:04.6 to handily beat the other six vets in his class, all of whom were racing in their home state. Rich now has eight Masters (50+) class wins in the last 10 rounds he has entered. Racing for first time since capturing the 90 Limited (8-12) class title, ITP youth racer Jordan Digby earned third in his new age class, 125 Sr. (12-15).

The second stop on the 2014 GNCC schedule is March 15-16, at Aonia Pass MX in Washington, Ga. This leg will feature round two for the ATV and dirt bike competitors, as well as the first of six rounds for side-by-side vehicle racers.
