PAYSON, UT – The Rocky Mountain ATV/MC Amateur National Motocross Championship presented by AMSOIL – better known simply as Loretta Lynn’s – is universally regarded as the premier amateur motocross event, attracting rising stars and future champions from every corner of the country. The first Area Qualifier that will lead to Loretta Lynn’s will be held February 15-16 at the Arizona Cycle Park.
A total of 51 Area Qualifiers in seven regions will take place in some of the finest local motocross venues from February to May. Riders who place in a qualifying spot at any Area Qualifier are invited to participate in the corresponding Regional Championship in June. The regionals act as a qualifier for the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC Amateur National Motocross Championship at Loretta Lynn’s in July and August. Riders are permitted to race in as many Area Qualifiers as they wish.
“Area Qualifiers are the first step in the quest for the National Championship,” said Tim Cotter, MX Sports Director. “Only five percent of the riders who attempt to qualify will actually make the final destination, which is the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship presented by AMSOIL at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch.”
Taking place in 31 different states, the locations of the area qualifiers are designed to offer a diverse and expansive selection so that every racer who is interested in participating may do so.
“This will be an exciting year for Loretta Lynn’s,” said Dan Thomas, CEO of Rocky Mountain ATV/MC. “We hope that the Area Qualifiers all receive excellent turnouts to ensure that the championship is the most thrilling yet.”
