Honda recently announced a new 2014 Montesa Honda Cota 4RT Repsol Edition trials bike. Honda explains the bike as having “the pedigree of a World Championship trials machine with the engineering and reliability of a Honda.” Honda says the bike is ideal for both serious competitors and weekend trials riders.
Spanish motorcycle manufacturer Montesa started back in 1944, but it wasn’t until the mid-eighties that Honda brought the brand into its fold. For 2014, American Honda will be offering a limited number of the Cota 4RT. This competition-ready machine is powered by a four-stroke Honda 260cc engine.
The Cota 4RT features an electronic fuel injection system and a “revolutionary” decompression system that reduces engine braking to provide the feel of a two-stroke motor. The bike also features a quick-shifting five-speed transmission, as well as Showa suspension and extra-wide foot pegs for added control on a wide variety of terrain. The 2014 Cota 4RT will be available in the Repsol Edition color of Orange/White/Red with a suggested retail price of $8,999. The bike will be available in April.
