Murrieta, CA – September 16, 2013 – After last week’s big win at the Unadilla GNCC, Fred Andrews Racing (FAR) Husqvarna’s Andrew DeLong was hungry for more, and came to Lynnville, Indiana with every intention of getting his TXC310R on the podium. After a hard day in the saddle, Andrew was carded with a third-overall finish at the Black Coal National Enduro.
On his way to the podium, DeLong managed to take his first-ever test win in the National Enduro Series. (Andrew won the Texas National Enduro but did not score a test win that day.) Following his victory on test four, AD had a setback on test five when he went over the bars in a slow-motion crash. The fumble cost him valuable seconds, and he slipped from third to fourth-overall by a slim margin. But DeLong headed into the last test of the day determined to regain his podium position.
“My crash in test five was the slowest over-the-bar crash I’ve ever had,” DeLong said. “Test six was a little scary at the speed I was going. But I wanted to be on the podium!”
Andrew got his wish, and made up for time lost in the final test. “AD rode great today,” commented Fred Andrews. “I would say he is back on his game now.”
