PICKERINGTON, Ohio — The thrilling handlebar-to-handlebar racing action of the AMA Vintage Dirt Track National Championship Series wraps up its 2013 season with a two-round doubleheader on Sept. 21-22 at the Oakland Valley Race Park in Cuddebackville, N.Y.

The popular series features period-correct vintage dirt-track motorcycles from a wide range of eras, dating to the earliest years of the sport to modern times.

“The AMA’s history in dirt-track racing dates to original factory Class-A competition in the 1920s,” said AMA Track Racing Manager Ken Saillant. “This sport’s roots run deep for motorcycling in general and the AMA specifically. It’s our honor to pay tribute to the great motorcycles and motorcycle racers of the past.”

The AMA Vintage Dirt Track National Championship Series crowns national champions in classes that reflect the storied history of AMA dirt-track competition. Class winners are honored at the annual AMA Championship Banquet, which recognizes national champions in all AMA-sanctioned disciplines.

“We encourage all fans and racers alike to come out and support this series at the final two rounds,” said Saillant. “Not only will you experience a bit of history, but you’ll get to take in some amazing racing.”
