Irvine, Calif. – The second of two days of mini racing saw Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green back on top of the podium at the Monster Energy Mammoth Motocross. Stilez Robertson took top honors on Wednesday by winning the 85cc 7-11 final and after finishing fourth on Tuesday, his 4-1 score gave him the overall AMA No.1 plate and championship in the class. Carson Mumford battled his teammate and finished in the runner-up spot while Sean Cantrell finished second in the 85cc 12-13 to take the overall championship in the class with a 1-2 score.
Family Affair
Stilez made the jump to the KX™85 for the 2013 season and after a slow start at the spring nationals, he was ready to prove himself at Mammoth. As the youngest member of Team Green, Stilez went out and bested his teammates and competitors in the 85cc 7-11 class to capture his first 85cc AMA championship. The Robertson family is a perfect example of the many motocross families that make up the amateur racing community. Mom, Dad, Sister, Brother all work together through the highs and lows and no matter the outcome they put family first.
Bring on the Big Bikes
With mini racing complete, Mammoth Motocross will be invaded by the roar of the larger 250cc and 450cc machines. Racing will resume on Friday with the Open classes followed by 250cc racing on Saturday and concluding with 450cc racing on Sunday.
