FMF/KTM Factory Team rider Russell Bobbitt added another win to his collection as he crossed the checkered flag to take the victory at the Tuscumbia, AL OMA National.
Bobbitt had a flawless day. He nailed the FMF holeshot and pulled to an early lead out front. At the end of the first 8-mile loop he had a 10 second lead over the 2nd place ride of Paul Whibley. “I had a great start and just tried to ride a smooth race out front. Whibley began pressuring me from the very beginning and we remained close all day,” remarked Bobbitt.
Despite the pressure from Whibley, Bobbitt never made a mistake and was able to hold the lead from the beginning to the end of the 2 hour plus one lap race. When the checkered flag flew, Bobbitt crossed the line 12 seconds ahead of Whibley.
“It feels great to get a win here today. I completely changed my program after not performing where I wanted to be last season in the National Enduro Series. I have been racing nearly every weekend leading up to the start of the National Enduro Series and it feels good to get a win before heading to the first round. A lot of my competitors were here today and it is good to compete against them and take home the win,” remarked Bobbitt.
With his pre-season races complete, Bobbitt will head to Salley, SC this coming weekend for the opening round of the AMA National Enduro Series. Bobbitt, a 3-time National Enduro Champion, has only one goal this season: to win!
