BOMBARDIER UNVEILS 2004 NEW GENERATION DS650 ATV LINEUP

Valcourt, Québec, March 13, 2003 - Bombardier Recreational Products introduces a new generation of DS650™ ATV models for 2004 built on the award winning DS650 platform. This new generation is more versatile, maintaining its superiority in the dunes while improving performance for trail and track riding. The new models are shorter, narrower and 9kg (20 lbs) lighter than the original DS650. “The new DS650 takes a revolutionary concept and makes it even better,” said Chris Dawson, Vice President of Marketing, Snowmobiles, Watercraft and ATV division. “Dune riders know the DS650 as a top performer. The new generation DS650, including DS650 Baja and the new DS650 Baja X package, is now so versatile that trail and track riders will be amazed as well.”
2004 DS650
The 2004 DS650 ATVs have a lighter aluminum swingarm design, new aluminum upper A-arms at the front, and a lighter, brighter duroplastic headlamp. They also include stainless steel braided brake lines as standard equipment, the only standard sport ATV in the industry to do so. All models have Ohtsu* tires mounted on a new, stronger rim design. The powerful Rotax® 653 engine is also standard, with 23% more horsepower and 14% more torque than its closest competitor, making the DS650 the fastest production quad available. Known for its durability, the DS650 was the only production-based model to finish the grueling 19-day Paris/Dakar marathon this year. The DS650 Baja, built to commemorate Bombardier’s record victory at the grueling Baja 2000 Challenge, has all the standard components of the DS650, plus an aluminum front bumper and muffler shield, tachometer, handlebar guards, new high performance grips, rear and front shock protectors, foot-peg extensions, halogen auxiliary lights, aluminum rims with reinforcement rings and a unique seat design. It is a complete competition ready added-value package right out of the factory for those who want more from this undisputed champion.
