StreetWires Debuts Ultra-Compact Distribution Blocks For “Tight” Power Delivery

Standard and Fused Models Deliver Maximum Power in Minimum Space

Oct. 03, 2006 By Press Release
PHOENIX, AZ — (10-2-06) — StreetWires ®, the inventor of premium cables and connectors for car audio, today announced two new electrical distribution blocks that deliver style as well as power to car entertainment systems or other accessories. Ideal for car audio, DVD players, monitors, lighting systems, power winches, security devices and more, StreetWires’ new distribution blocks feature top quality materials to deliver dependable power where vehicle owners need it most.

Distribution blocks are the “nerve center” for electrical distribution from the vehicle’s main power source. By running a single wire from the power source to the block, then branching off to various electrical devices as needed, costly wiring is minimized. It also makes troubleshooting easier, since any electrical faults in the system can be easily diagnosed at the block.

StreetWires’ new ultra-compact power distribution blocks feature forged 100% solid brass connections for minimal power loss, combined with small size for easy placement anywhere they’re needed. The units are built with black polycarbonate bases for strength and high temperature resistance, then combined with optical-quality, impact-resistant clear polycarbonate covers that showcase the technology within. Deep conductor wells assure solid, secure connections on both the input and output sides. Specific models include:

  • Standard Blocks —Available in both four output (DBX3448) and three output (DBX3434) varieties, these blocks are perfect for small-to-medium multi-amp systems as well as for general power distribution. Both units support three power inputs; the DBX3448 offers 8-gauge output wire, while the DBX3434 uses 4-gauge output wiring.
  • Fused Blocks —StreetWires’ new FBXM68 ultra-compact fused block is the ideal choice for up to six medium- to small-amperage circuits. The unit ranges from 2-amp to 60-amp circuit protection depending on the ATM fuses used. The FBXM68 supports dual 4-gauge direct inputs along with six outputs (8-gauge, but will properly clamp up to 12-gauge cables). Each output consists of two parallel ATM fuses. One or both fuses can be used to achieve any amperage needed.

“These new distribution blocks from StreetWires continue to innovate the electronic accessory market. Without sacrificing the quality that makes our products the leaders in their category, StreetWires will continue to be the leader in electronic accessories,” said John Ivey, Director of Mobile Audio for the StreetWires brand. “These two new distribution blocks feature premium materials in the ultra-small size that installs often require. When you need to transfer maximum power from your electrical system to your aftermarket electrical components, these power distribution blocks can handle it.”
