Fuel ATV was started in 2000 by Steve Engle when he realized the ATV market lacked baja style front bumpers and tube framed cooler racks. See our previous article about Fuel ATV's bumpers and cooler racks. Since then Steve has focused on adding performance to 4-stroke ATV's for the ATV rider on a budget. Fuel ATV has developed a high quality intake system for the Suzuki LTR450 and coupled it with a Dasa exhaust system to add 13 extra horse power!

Directional cone inside the air filter

The simple bolt in air intake kit consists of a unique air filter, water repellant outerwear, billet adaptor ring, mounting bracket, and all necessary hardware. This kit was developed to create more intake velocity than any other kit on the market. The increased intake velocity is due to a unique air filter design which has double the surface area than the stock filter. The air filter is unique because of a cone inside the filter to direct air into the carburetor rather than letting the air simply be sucked in. This means more air into the motor which translates into more power!

The billet adaptor ring has a grooved surface for a secure clamping area and is fitted to an aluminum bracket. The entire assembly bolts in place of the stock air box and filter. The Fuel ATV LTR air intake kit has been developed with many hours on the dyno. While all dyno machines read differently, the Fuel ATV kit adds a proven 3.25HP of gain over the stock air box with the lid removed.

Dasa LTR450 exhast system

Fuel ATV is also the largest distributor of the Dasa exhaust system. It's an all stainless steel design with an aluminum muffler. The end of the muffler features removable end caps to make it easy to repack. The brackets that bolt it to the frame are made of billet aluminum rather than bent metal found on most pipes. Steve claims the pipe adds another 3hp.

Dyno chart

A stock LTR makes approximately 41 HP with no modifications. Steve took a stock LTR, removed the air box lid, removed the baffle in the stock exhaust and added the Yoshimura Cherry bomb and gained 7 HP over stock. With the addition of the Dasa pipe, a Power Commander (plug and play fuel injection adjustment unit) and the Fuel ATV air intake kit; Steve gained another 6HP. This is a huge gain and most defiantly noticeable by the 'seat of the pants dyno'. This entire modification can be ordered as a kit from Fuel ATV for under $1000!

Anti-vibe steering stem

Fuel ATV also sells a wide range of items for the LTR as well as other models. Some of these products include front bumpers, anti-vibe steering stems, steering stabilizers, shift pin relocation kit, many carbon fiber parts, brake line clamps, and even a very moderately priced long travel suspension kit!

Steve at Fuel ATV has put in many hours developing and designing high performance parts for various ATVs. He uses what he sells on his personal ATVs and knows what he sells works to its fullest potential!
