WASHINGTON RACE - DAVID KELLEY #93 WORCS RACING

Toutle, Washington June 15-17, Riverdale Raceway

The track was about 4 - 5 miles long, jumpy in the mx section and tight in the offroad section.

Friday's practice went well - just getting used to the track.

During Unclassified on Saturday morning I let the group take off and hung back with a few friends, that way I could watch where other riders were having problems. During my first race on Saturday I started off last! Then to make matters worse, I crashed into a tree as soon as I hit the off-road section. I smacked my knee - ouch! After I pulled my quad out of the trees, I took off. I worked my way up to second place by the end of the race. My knee was swollen up by the end of the race. I iced it so I could race on Sunday.

Sunday's race was another crappy start. I was third to last. I guess I like to come from behind. The jumps went well and I managed to pass other riders there. By the end of the race I was in a battle for second place. Unfortunately, I got stuck behind another rider and finished third.

All in all it was a great weekend - two podium finishes and no major injuries or breakdowns. Living in the desert it's pretty hot this time of year. I will be riding early in the morning before it gets scorching hot to prepare for my next race.

Thank you to my sponsors:Duncan Racing, Sugar's Restaurant in Overton, NV, Jorgensen Honda in Utah, Hetrick Racing and Elka Shocks. Also, thank you to my mom and dad and my family and friends who support me.
