Honda announced some very exciting news for its side-by-side lineup for 2016, as it will offer two brand-new full-size UTV models in the groundbreaking Pioneer 1000 and Pioneer 1000-5.  These new models will offer class-leading displacement and payload capabilities.

2016 Honda Pioneer 1000-5 Deluxe

Honda�s 2016 Pioneer and Pioneer 1000-5 will be powered by an all-new 999cc liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder Unicam four-stroke engine. Honda also notes that its new Pioneer models will feature a first for side-by-sides: a six-speed fully automatic Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT), which is a belt-less transmission that Honda says is �durable, efficient and easy to use.� The six-speed trans features six forward gears and reverse, and it features four drive modes that include 2WD, 4WD, Turf and Differential lock.

The new Pioneer features an all-new 999cc liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder four-stroke engine.

�We�re very excited about the all-new 999cc engine we�ve developed for these new Pioneers,� said Lee Edmunds, Manager of Motorcycle Marketing Communications at American Honda. �We�ve also added the industry�s only fully automatic mechanical transmission�the 6-speed Dual Clutch Transmission. With steel gears, the DCT offers true engine braking, seamless shifting and a smooth, reliable transfer of power.�

Honda willl offer the all-new Pioneer chassis in a three-person version and five-person model.

There will be four different configurations for the new Pioneer, including the base three-person version and the Deluxe five-person Pioneer 1000-5. Each models comes standard with 4WD, high-low shifting and differential lock. The Deluxe model will feature upgraded items, such as 14-inch aluminum wheels, 27-inch radial tires, LED headlights and electric power steering. The five-person model will come equipped with an auto-leveling rear suspension and full-size convertible bed with Honda�s QuickFlip seating for easy conversion. The Pioneer is covered by a one-year warranty, and the vehicles will be available in the fall of 2015.

The 2016 Honda Pioneer 1000 will be offered in a number of different color options that include Phantom Camo (shown).
