BRP recently announces the 2014 lineup of ATV and side-by-side vehicles, which includes a four-seater Maverick, new X packages, and a new Tri-Mode Dynamic Power Steering (DPS) for the Maverick and the Can-Am-Commander.
"As promised, we have grown our Can-Am side-by-side vehicle line-up to include the 2014 Can-Am Maverick MAX 1000R. We also outfitted both the Maverick and Commander side-by-side vehicles with an all-new Tri-Mode Dynamic Power Steering that further enhances handling and offers more convenience for our customers,” said Yves Leduc, vice-president and general manager, North America division. “BRP now offers a highly innovative, versatile and diverse family of side-by-side vehicles for both two and four passengers that continue to strike a chord with off-road consumers around the world.”
One of the biggest additions to Can-Am’s lineup is the 101-horsepower Maverick MAX 1000R is based on the original two-seat Maverick model but features room for four full-sized adults thanks to its 29.5-inch longer wheelbase. The four-seat Maverick, available in an X rs and X packages, includes a Fox suspension system and the new Tri-Mode DPS for improved handling.
The company’s popular Commander model, including the 800R and 1000, also gets the new Tri-Mode DPS system with Visco-Lok QE for precise handling. New to the Commander line is the 1000 XT-P features the XT packages accessories but also gets sportier FOX suspension. Each Commander also get a new “ECO” mode switch for 2014, though more “linear throttle response” can be chosen through “Sport” mode.
