Ram fans got a good look at the new 1500 pickup in Detroit last month. Now, the company has released its pricing.

Ram’s configurator for its new-for-2019 pickup has been live for about a month. Today, the brand released pricing for its shiny new truck and while it will lighten your wallet a bit more than last year, the increase might not be as much as you think.

As we know, factories will be cranking out base stripper models using the old body style, meaning the cheapest new 2019 Ram 1500 is – for now – a Tradesman Quad Cab 4×2. It will have a starting price of $31,695 plus the unavoidable $1645 destination fee.

For that sum, buyers will find a 3.6L V6 Pentastar with eTorque under the hood along with Ram’s eight-speed automatic, 3.21 rear end gears, and an open diff. The new truck is #blessed with a backup camera, remote keyless entry, and power accessories.

In comparison, the 2018 Tradesman Quad Cab 4×2 trim delivers the same engine sans eTorque, a stereo without any uConnect connectivity, and five-lug hubs for $30,895 plus $1395 destination. All things considered, a price hike of $1050 is a pretty good deal.

“In launching the all-new 2019 Ram 1500, we knew it was important to offer class-leading features and technology. But it’s also important to offer our great product at a competitive price,” said Mike Manley, Head of Ram Truck Brand — FCA. “We feel that we’ve delivered the right no-compromise mix that Ram Truck customers will appreciate.”

Topping the range is the Limited Crew Cab 4×4 with the Hemi V8, checking in at $57,390 plus destination. Last year’s truck in the same trim rang the bell for $56,795 plus destination. Given that the new truck incorporates a raft of new technologies – including the Jumbotron 12” infotainment screen – and a boatload of style, the cost increase is quite reasonable.

Off-road fans will be interested to learn the Rebel is now available in three different body configurations: Quad Cab 4×4, Crew Cab 4×2, and Crew Cab 4×4. Their base prices are $44,695, $43,995, and $47,495 respectively. Those prices include the 3.6L V6 eTorque engine, with the Hemi V8 costing an extra $1195. Power from an eTorque-equipped Hemi will set you back $1995 in the Rebel but that engine isn’t scheduled to show up on dealer lots until later this year.

Compared to 2018 models, the two-wheel drive Crew Cab is $1300 more dear while the 4×4 remains essentially unchanged. The V8 is currently a $1450 option on the 4×4. It would seem then, that Rebel fans need not rush out and grab one of the final 2018 models in fear of a price hike. Those who do select last year’s truck, however, can count on finding a cadre of rebates and bonus cash, so shop carefully and bargain hard if you’re looking at a 2018 model.

Prices for Ram’s new optional stand-alone package on 4x4s, the Off Road Group, weren’t mentioned. We remain very interested in learning its cost, as this option bestows Rams of all trims with the majority of kit that is equipped on the Rebel. Depending on its final price, it could be the must-have option in Ram’s catalog.

With truck prices seeming to climb ever higher into the stratosphere, it is refreshing to find base prices of the 2019 Ram 1500 relatively unchanged from the old model. Surely, overall transaction prices will rise given the number of new options and packages on the 2019 truck, but at least one is starting from a reasonable base sticker price.

The company says copies of the 2019 Ram 1500 pickup are wending their way to dealers as we speak, so it won’t be long before they start popping up in showrooms across the nation. Off-road.com will have full First Drive impressions in the coming weeks.
