(JPG 89K) Paul Fuertsch's FJ-45, purchased in Montana about 3 years ago. I had the cowl replaced, the F motor replaced with a rebuilt 2F, and the tranny and transfer replaced with those out of a 79. Other small work includes rebuilt carburetor, new distributor and other little items; otherwise, it is pretty original and pretty rust free. I use it for everyday travel and one of these days will probably give it a frame off restoration.

(JPG 30K) I picked up this beauty in Lawrence, KS. The exterior was in great shape. The interior and engine needed work. I replaced the uppholstery on the bench seats, did some minor replacement under the hood (manifold, ignition parts, etc...), added a sport bar and new tires. Took it topless for the summer... looks great, runs great, climbs like a mountain goat! See ya on the trails. Mike Minton

(JPG 41K) Juan Carlos Anglade's 1982 fj40 taken in Estado Guarico in Venezuela, I was crossing the river in a out-door fishing trip. I always been a Land Cruiser fan, specially in fj40's. This truck has 300.000 Kms and still has the original standard engine 100% toyota, it has 4 speed transmission, power steering, air-conditioning, disc brakes in front, Dana 60 in rear, K&B suspenssion, 4 Hankook 36" 9.00-R16, 18 gals aux. tank, and some others modifications like 3F intake manifold, fj60 fan-clutch... I live in Caracs Venezuela and I think that Venezuela is a virgin land to explore on your Land Cruiser... I have so many others pictures of my fj40 in many others off-road places, if anybody interested, contact me.

(JPG 53K) Ian Staines' 1985 BJ70. This is my truck. My previous vehicle was a 1982 BJ40, but the rust was getting me down so I upgraded. This truck is still stock. It has a 5 speed transmission, power steering, and BF Goodrich All Terrains. I use it mainly for getting me to the hiking and climbing spots around British Columbia. Work that needs to be done includes new springs, and a bull bar with winch. This photo shows some of the logging roads near Lilloette BC.

(JPG 56K) Thomas M. Bovaird I have a Toyota LJ70 for sale in the U.S.A.! The LC was bought new in Italy in 1991. I then shipped it to Chad in Africa and I used it for two years. By error it was shipped in 1993 to New York. After much difficulty and not a little expense, I succeeded in legally importing the car. To my knowledge, and the opinion of the EPA and DOT, it is the only LJ70 legally in the U.S. It is a short wheelbase EEC spec. version, red in color, with the 2LT turbo diesel 2.5L engine. At the moment it has 40,000 km of use and no damage.

(JPG 98K) Sam HoustonI have been a fan of Land Cruisers for as long as I can remember, but this 1987 FJ60 is the first that I've owned. It is all original with the exception of the TJM bumper and the Ramsey winch. It has 82,000 miles on it at this time (75,000 when I bought it in December of 1995) and is running strong now that it has a new cylinder head (ouch!). It is a daily driver as well as trail transportation. Future plans include OME suspension, 33 inch BFG MTs, ARBs front and rear, rear bumper with tire carrier, larger fuel tank, ..., and maybe a NV4500 when I win the lottery. I wish I could build it quicker. Maybe the biggest modification I am planning is the addition of a mid 70's FJ40. I hope I can find a decent one that I can afford.

(JPG 98K) Steve WooI bought this '71 FJ40 2 years ago. The previous owner had put a '72 F engine with a '74 4-spd tranny, and had painted it. I have redone the interior, added an Auburn ltd-slip diff. to the rear. Headers, 3" lift, Rancho 5000 w/ Hectthorne steering stabilizer and BF Goodrich All-terrain's 32x11.50-15's round out the package. Most of the stuff bought over at Specter Off-Road. Great bunch of guys over there.

(JPG 49K) Charlie Niehaus Altamont, IL USA. Here is a snap of my FJ62GXL. It is the Family wagon that gets a lot of offroad time! (Thus explains the missing bumper caps on the from bumper - Hard winters here in central Illinois. It has 180,000+ miles and still runs like a champ. I get in some trail riding, which is what I was up to on this fine day. (If you look real hard you may even see my 2 yr old daughter asleep in her car seat - she loves to offroad, and can sleep throgh most jars and bumps, unless she is thrown from the set. At least I know it works!) Bought this off a lot before the dealer knew what he had. (Not many cruisers in Central IL.

(JPG 39K) Richard W. Franklin's 1972 fj-55. I live in California in Ridgecrest the Mojave Desert. The vehicle is all stock except for the colors. It has about 46,000 miles to its credit. It hasn't gotten much off road use yet been too busy making it look like it does. I have only owned it for about 2 months before this picture was taken.

(n/a) San Antonio Cruiser, owned by Chris and Lisa Roseberry. This 78 FJ40 has runs great after a few engine repairs. A soft top has been installed as well as off-road lights and a competition seat belt harness system. Plans are for new carpeting and custom seats.

(JPG 53K) My name is Pete Brandner from Denver, Colorado and this is a picture of my 1978 FJ-40. I purchased it totally stock with 62,000 original miles on it in 1988. I am the third owner. Additions include, stock toyota aluminum rims from a 1987 fj-60, specter brush guard, 31 inch BFGoodrich All-terrains, custom seats. Paint is all original as is the 2F engine and transmission. Future plans include ARB lockers, advanced handling kit and power steering.

And a 1989 FJ75 from Costa Rica. 3F engine with Carborator. 5 speed trans. all original except for wheels. 15" Toyota 4 runner rims with 33x9.5Rx15 BFG Mud Terrains. (JPG 53K) Stephen W. Comstock's '91 FJ-80 which I purchased in October of '95 with only 28K miles on it. The upgrades are an ARB bull bar with a Warn 10K winch, and the running boards which my wife likes, but are somewhat of a hindrance to me off road. Future upgrades will include Old Man Emu shock/spring combos and lockers for the front and rear axles. (JPG 128K) Bob Baran's 1977 FJ40. We purchased it when we were living over on Kauai. It had 23,000 original miles on it when we bought it three years ago. It is totally stock except for the radial tires and the roof rack (not pictured). Current plans are to replace the OEM muffler with a stainless system and replace the OEM radiator. We are currently looking to purchase a FJ60.

(JPG 53K) Brian and Bill Jones' 1982 FJ60, Truk-Truk. This is our stock Cruiser we will be driving throughout Central America in the summer of '96. We are the 2nd owners, at it has about 77,000 miles on it. A little ignition work, and a cooling system overhaul, and she'll be ready to go 10,000 miles through the jungle.

(JPG 59K) Martin's 1980 BJ-40 Diesel. When I bought it, it was full of rust but I was happy because they are hard to find. I started by removing the hard top the doors then I removed the back section of the truck, cut the floor behind the seats and started from there I rebuilted the whole thing with 12 gauge steel. A bit heavy maybe but bulletproof !!! Then I added some 32" X 11.5" x 15" all terrain tires with 15" X 8" chrome & black mags plus a bestop soft top. It took me a year, a lot of nights, week-ends and a couple of beers to acheve my project but it really worth it!.

(JPG 53K) Bruce Ellis' 74 FJ40. I rebuilt this guy from the ground up. It is rebuilt to original except for some personal prefrences .. front grill, wheels/tires, bumper, seats & mirrors(1980's model). The photo was taken on Tin Cup Pass in the Sawatch Range, Colorado. I am sorry to say that I did sell it, but it was replaced with the only thing that will climb in the mountains better than a cruiser.. Llamas. I do currently own a 94 FJ80, great vehicle, but there will never be another like the FJ40.
