Heres a picture of my 69 FJ40. It was originally purchased for $650 in fair condition. It was origanlly black/sliver and now corvette yellow. I put in a slightly modified 350 with a Muncie 4-Speed transmission. The 4 speed was put in after the 3 speed burnt up. It has a 2 1/2" shackle lift with 33 12.5 BFG Mud Terrains. Soon to be added is power steering, 4 wheel disc brakes, and Advanced Handling Kit. This is an older picture with the soft top, I now have a hard top on it. The interior has Beard Racing seats with Diamond plate around the brackets and on the wheel wells . The Cruiser goes where ever I want it too. Craig Lucas Las Vegas, NV.

Click Here for Larger JPEG ImageThis cruiser was purchased almost a year ago for my son Brandon and my daughter Courtney, we have removed all rust and repainted it. It is all original condition, with oversized tires. New stero added and very little else. 130,000 miles and it runs like a top. Plan on putting a roll bar and a wench in it soon. Click Here for Larger JPEG ImageHey , I am Craig Lawrence of Harstelle, Alabama. Sending you a pict of my 74 FJ40 LandCruiser and some descriptions.. In 1995 I converted the FJ40 into a CHEVOTA. I droped in a 350 Chevy that has been slightly modified. Used the stock 4 speed transmision. Got some of the conversion kit from Downey Off Road. Has been painted Chevy Torch Red and chromed some of the body parts. Has 31" Summit all terain tires and 4.10 gear ratio. Estimated horsepower is 375 to the rear wheels. Real eye catcher. Still being updated on interior. Paid $4,000.00 brand new, everything has been replace such as tierod ends, shackle bushings, etc. Still has the original front and rear diffs.

The usual goodies like a CB, Jackall, shovel, axe, fire extinguisher, tools, brush guard up front with Hella 500 driving lights, recovery kit (shackles, ropes, snatch blocks, gloves etc...). Just completed projects are: installation of Saginaw power steering, and an air compressor from a Chrysler for on-board air. More to come in the future so stay tuned.

Click Here for Larger JPEG Image"Yes, I use it to the MAX!" 406 cid, 4 wheel disc breaks, and 1/4 mile in under 13 seconds!!!! This summer I plan to run my truck at the local track (Mission) and see what happens. I am confident, due in part to the many practice runs at the airport, and against lots of 5.0 L Mustangs.... I Love watchin the drivers expression as they pull up "Behind" me after a run. another overhaul this winter should give me the much desired reving. I shift now at 5200 and in the spring, after a new more aggressive roller cam and all the wizzy parts to go along with it, should net me 6500, and times around 12 sec. Anyone wishing to assist in the "Race" future of this FJ 40 could e-mail me or???? any suggestions? Stephen Ayer

Click Here for Larger JPEG ImageMy 1978 Fj40 was bought a year ago in real bad shape. Have done much engine work, replaced all steering components. Body rot on back end so bad Ilitterally cut off huge sections. had to replace sides with some diamond plate alluminum, and floor boards too. Its come a long way, future plans for lights, and racks. fun project. Jason M. Peters

Click Here for Larger JPEG ImageThis is a 1972 FJ55 that I have now owned for a little over a year...its green and white, doesnt have a straight body panel, growls and whines down the road and has only half a front bumper and retread tires on it, but its mine.and I love it! I treat it well, it treats me well I havnt made any signifigent improvments to it except the power bucket seats from a 92 mustang, other than that its been repairs...a very small portion includes new steering box, new rear window, fixed all door locks and handles, revivived engine from the old folks home (tho it still needs a rebuild) replaced various oil seals, rebuilt clutch master/slave and brake master/wheel cylinders, + front hoses and $400 worth of other brake peices, have FINALLY gotten that chronically loud and exhaust leaky engine to tolarable volumes (yet still grunts enough to set off all the neihborhood car alarms!!) I have a land cruiser web page wich will be up shortly suitibly named "The Land Cruiser addicts Temple of Worship"! or Land Cruiser Addicts page for short. you can email me at dmetcalfe@kids.osd.wednet.edu for info on the page or my truck. if you live in the Olympia area of washington, drop me a note! Click Here for Larger JPEG ImageThis is my `74. I have had it a little over two and a half years... Mods: Chevy 383, SM420, 4" spring lift, 1" body lift, Disc brakes, power steering. R.W. Hughes (Bob) Antioch, Ca

Click Here for Larger JPEG ImageI have owned Land Cruisers for the past 26 years. Restoration of the latest cruiser, a 1978 FJ-40, has been a joint labor of love with my son, Tivon. We have done complete restoration of the frame, body (painted British Racing Green urethane), and interior. The drivetrain includes the stock F2 engine, 4-speed transmission and transfer case. Modifications include Weber carburation, tuned exhaust headers, LC4 Advanced Handling Suspension (front shackle reversal), 3.5" total lift, Doetsch Tech shocks, Rancho steering stabilizer, 32x12.5 radial AT tires on 10" rims, custom roll cage and front bumper, all covered by either the OEM Hardtop, Bestop soft top or bikini top. Jack Rice TLCA #4751

Click Here for Larger JPEG ImageJust thought you might be interested to see a picture of our "pre-purchase" inspection of the wagon we bought. This one belongs to me and Scott Atkin (Scott's in the picture), and it's a '67 with 60K on the OD. The rust is surface only, and the body is in nearly perfect shape. Engine runs like a top, and we're planning a big restorative effort for the beast. Will hopefully have nicer pictures in a year or so. Click Here for Larger JPEG Image(JPG 27) This is a 1978 FJ40 in sun-faded green with white top, owned by Kevin Forsyth. Engine, drivetrain, and suspension are all stock, including the stock USA emission and air pump. Only change is a Man-A-Fre 6-1 exhaust header and Rancho shocks. The engine has 78,000 miles on it and runs beautifully. Note the trademark body rot around the fender seams, caused by too much Midwest road salt; the hole under the driver's seat and the severly rotted left front fender are not visible. This photo was taken in 1991; since then the body deteriorated a lot more and now the Cruiser is in pieces in my garage, waiting until I have time to put my new body tub on the chassis.

Click Here for Larger JPEG Image(JPG 37) My '73 Land Cruiser is mostly stock with the exception of the ARB locker in the rear and 4 wheel disk brakes. It came from the factory with the PTO winch. It has a mild shackle lift to clear 31x10.50 mud tires. Currently it is for sale. my email is charlesb@src.usa.com

Click Here for Larger JPEG Image(JPG 46) Aaron Rich 's1970 FJ55, Chevy 350, Muncie 4sp, PTO Wench, Rancho Suspension, add-a-leafs, Desert Duellers 33x12.5, Full Roll Cage, Oak Dash, and much more. I have tipped her once but she has proven quite worthy of anything I have put her up to, I love my BEAST (it is a beast).

Click Here for Larger JPEG Image(JPG 25) Here's a shot of my '88 FJ-62 nearing what felt like a potential role, though everyone else claimed otherwise. With 152,000 miles and only a shackle lift to fit the rubber,Click Here for Larger JPEG Imageshe does great on the trail, despite the all-terrain tires in the Ohio mud. I bought her with 134K on the clock and not much else. After some interior work and a couple sets of tires, she was ready to crawl. The only problem is the trails that our club (Mid Ohio Land Cruisers) runs are a bit skinny for the bus I drive. Shortly after this Pic was taken, I put a crease on the right rear quarter. Well, I'm sure there's more of that down the trail. Curtis N. Taft MOLC & TLCA#3304

Click Here for Larger JPEG Image(JPG 49) Scott Wilcox's 1977 FJ40. When I got my Cruiser last May it was in good shape with 62k miles but needed a little fix-up. Its all original except for the mods I've done. So far, I've done some minor body and mechanical work, added the brushguard, 32" A/Ts, 1.5" shackle lift, split bench seats from a '95 Toy Pickup, bikini top (Bestop Tiger Top is on it's way) and lots of little stuff. Future plans include Rhino-Liner interior, paint job, lockers, and who knows what else. The Cruiser loves to climb rocks and has been all over Moab, UT and Chokecherry Canyon here in Farmington, New Mexico.

Click Here for Larger JPEG Image(JPG 46) Warren Clark. 's 1980 BJ40, with a 3 liter B diesel engine, 4 speed, manual steering. I spent 5 years doing a frame off restoration of the truck, with all new body panels all around (except for a couple that were in really good shape anyway), all the mechanicals were rebuilt, including the engine, and new paint (again, all original) all around. I have made every effort to keep it as original as possible. The only mod so far is the addition of a 24 volt WARN 8000lb winch. I do most of my off road driving out near the Rockies, in and around Mountain Park, Cadomin, and up and down the Forestry Trunk Road between Grand Prairie and Nordegg. Future mods include some kind of lockers, a roof rack, brush bar, off road lights, a bus heater(!) (an absolute must for the Canadian -40C winters!).

Click Here for Larger JPEG Image(JPG 101K) Tracy Held. These are my cruisers. The 78 FJ40 is bone stock and all original. Note how the shadows cleverly hide the extensive body rot. No matter, future plans include an out of body experience. Only 82K miles. Runs like a top. Next is a 91 FJ80, mostly stock, less an OME steering damper and nerf steps for the kids. At 74K miles, she's just about broke in. Future plans include an OME suspension setup. ARB lockers would be nice too.

Click Here for Larger JPEG Image(JPG 49K) As much as I like the cruiser, I've decided to sell it. I wanted inform tlca members before I went to the public. Its a FJ55-1976, in excellent condition inside and out. Mostly stock with most original equipment in place. Bushings job less than a year. New brakes. Brand new paint job! Immaculate interior. Runs very well and the V6 is still strong. Needs steering bell-house rebuild (little play in wheel), heater core replaced, and front axle attached with new locking hubs. Also need speedo cable and gas sending guage connected. I have all replacement parts in my possession. Its incredible to look at now! Very, very clean thru-out! Click Here for Larger JPEG Image(JPG 18K) My truck is an 80 series diesel wagon with aftermarket turbo running 9 p.s.i. boost. It has an Ultimate suspension fitted to cope with the extra weight being carried and giving an extra 5 cm lift. 'Roo bar carries PIAA Driving lights and a 10,000lb warn Winch. Front and Rear Air locking differentials fitted and run by an under-bonnet compressor. This is also used to reinflate tyres after sand running or puncture repairs. Twin battery system fitted to run winch and fridges. High frequency (R.F.D.S.) radio, 27 meg AM/SSB and UHF CB radios and GPS navigation system fitted. A snorkel improves air flow to the engine and enables deep water crossings. Fuel capacity 250 litres in twin tanks and an 80 litre water tank is fitted in the cargo area. This vehicle is used for long range desert and remote area travel in Western Australia, Central Australia and the Northern Territory. We need to be self sufficient for upto 3 weeks, dependant only by water and fuel restrictions. My vehicle crossing the Finke River in Central Australia. If people wish information about travel in the Western Australia, Northern Territory or Central Australia, please e-mail me at Nigel_Buxton@msn.com

Click Here for Larger JPEG Image(JPG 82K) This is Jens Eilers' (Bad Honnef, Germany) 1983 BJ-42 with a 3.4l 4-cyl Toyota Diesel engine, 170.000 kms, 4-speed transmission, manual steering (unfortunately), front disk brakes, rear drum brakes, Kayline's Fast-Trac Convertible Top for summer and Hardtop for winter. I've had that baby since 1995 and this year I decided to rebuild her body. Look at that nice paint job (cobalt blue). I've also installed custom made running boards and bumpers, both aluminum.

Click Here for Larger JPEG Image(JPG 47K) Joan Legere's 81 3 L Diesel is a three owner jem with 170,000 km and very limited rust. (Unusual for Nova Scotia) Body has been done once and she's mechanically excellent (Not surprising for Land Cruisers) 24 volt Warn winch will drag her and her 1.5 ton military trailer out of just about anything. Only mod is 1.5" of lift in the rear shackle. Future plans include better rubber. What more does a Land Cruiser need? A recent survey indicated that Land Cruiser owners were the second least likely owners to modify there vehicles. Hummer owners were first.

Click Here for Larger JPEG Image(JPG 95K) I bought this 78 FJ40 in June of 96 from an old elk hunter in Cheyenne Wy. It has 39000 miles. Pretty much original except for 31" BFG's, 20 gallon aux fuel tank, high lift jack, shovel, heavy duty bumper, power steering, new windshield, Tuffy security console, Alpine AM/FM Cassett & CD changer with Boston Acoustics, Bestop Bikini, lots-o-Specter Off Road do-dads, Soon to have new paint, OME suspension, winch and who knows what else! Greg Overton

Click Here for Larger JPEG Image (JPG 41K) The picture is taken from the cover of a local magazine and is of the first Icelandic 44" cruiser. The truck was a gift from the local toyota dealer to two mountains rescue teams for use as an ambulance in hard to reach areas/conditions. The dealer also modified it for use as such. Reykjavik's fire department now has the truck and uses it a litle, mainly in the wintertime. The picture is taken in the early day's of its modifications. Now it is loaded with all the stuff ambulances have, it carries three people and one patient on a stretcher. The truck itself has 44" Dick Cepeck tires (38" radial in the summertime), 4.2 liter turbo/intercooled disel engine (app. 200 - 220 hp) 4.88:1 ring and pinion, 4 sp. automatic trans, (orginal) two transfer cases, (1-st low low ratio of app. 1:100) few radios, GPS, mobile telePhone, ..... and a lot more. As I said this was the first one, now there are probably than 10-15 of 44", model 80 Toys in Iceland and a lot of 38" Toys. There of are 4 owned by Mountain rescue teams (not including the one on the picture, witch ownership is quite complicated now after all the modifications, and probably not even known!) Rúnar Sigurjónsson (more pictures here too!)

Click Here for Larger JPEG Image(JPG 33K) This car is a LANDCRUISER PZJ 70, the owner is Mr.Yoshihiro Onishi. This is my friends car. He change from BJ73--->PZJ70.

Click Here for Larger JPEG Image(JPG 65K) My name is Scott Johnston and my LC is a 1963 FJ40. It has been extensively modified both on and "off" road. It currently has been "sprung over" with OME springs, 35" BFG's, on board air, ARB's front and rear, 38 gallon gas capacity, Chevy 327, SM465 transmission, Link Arc welder, and yes a CB radio too. It has it's share of dents but that is going to be fixed real soon.

Click Here for Larger JPEG Image(JPG 26K) June Bennett's 1976 FJ-40 Land Cruiser, Bessie. Well here is the updated Bessie. I've done a little bit to her now in the year that I have had her. I put on used Rancho add-a-leafs for about 2 inches there, then a 2 inch shackle on the rear with urethane bushings from Prothane. Also got the longer Rancho u-bolts. Then got the "unbreakable" Specter fender flares and did the cut outs with a jigsaw and quite a few blades! Then I put on my husbands old set of 32x11.50x15 Uniroyal Laredo M/T's on black mod steel wheels. Those are really a quiet good performing tire! So those are the mods I've done as seen in this picture. Since then she's taken on a whole new look...Bessie's topless! We fixed all the rust, which was fairly minor. We welded in the metal we cut out from the fenders, and then repainted her the stock medium blue color. So we still have to paint the hard top. I have been running around the last couple months with a Bestop bikini and half doors. She looks so cool! Not bad for a $1500 investment huh?! Stay tuned for a topless picture of Bessie... member Rising Sun 4WD Club of Colorado.
