10/09/2006 – An electronic rust protection system specially developed for the galvanic cell corrosion that seems endemic to vehicles with steel frames and aluminum bodies is now available from Counteract Corrosion Protection. The HLR-4 model (Hummer/Land Rover) was designed to address those areas of concern with frames and body areas near the frame that are prone to rust and corrosion from galvanic corrosion cells on vehicles of this type.

The CounterAct anti-corrosion system, which employs the vehicle's battery requires no sprays or coatings. It has long seen service on municipal snowplow and fire trucks, mining equipment fleets and beach patrol vehicles where galvanic corrosion is a particular concern and has been an option on EZ Loader Boat Trailers since 2002. Speaking to CounterAct’s effectiveness in these situations EZ Loader’s aluminum trailer division in Port St Lucie FLA conducted a field test of the CounterAct system from 2001 through 2003. The system was tested on a trailer with aluminum I-beam frame, galvanized steel cross members and zinc plated hardware. After one year of use in Florida’s saltwater environment with no special freshwater wash downs the trailer showed little to no corrosion and the hardware showed no corrosion at all.

EZ Loader is North America's largest marine trailer manufacturer and CounterAct has enjoyed its history of service and cooperation with EZ Loader as an official vendor. The boat trailer system was the subject of several complimentary write ups recently in “Bass and Walleye Boats “Magazine” and Lousiana Sportsman which provide a good background on how the system works and can be used in other trailer applications.

The CounterAct system as it is designed for trailers differs from the automobile and off-road vehicle systems in that it has a solar charging panel to power the system when the trailer is detached from the vehicle.

CounterAct systems have received lavish praise from 4x4 publications worldwide. Australian 4WD Monthly stated in the Jan 200 issue that “…there isn’t a 4WD in the country that wouldn’t benefit from a CounterAct fitment.” Overland 4WD commented "Groups as diverse as mining companies to local governments have heaped lavish praise on the CounterAct unit, so they definitely seem to be on to something. You don’t have to own a new vehicle to get value from it either."

CounterAct continues to manufacture their complete line of electronic rust protection systems for all mobile applications from ATVs to 250-ton rock trucks and now even produces systems for aviation applications. CounterAct invites inquiries for all your off road corrosion control and paint protection as well as other rust protection applications such as snow plows, fixed structures, trailers and industrial infrastructure.
