MIAMI, Sept. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Camp Jeep, a popular attraction at auto shows throughout the U.S., will make its Florida debut at the 36th edition of the South Florida International Auto Show presented by Allstate when the show opens to the public on Friday, October 6.
A nearly 30,000 square foot site will be set up along Convention Center Drive, adjacent to Hall D on the building's west side throughout the 10-day run of the auto show.
The Jeep Trail Rated Test Track offers seven different challenges. It's an off-road playground where drivers experience what it's like to drive the 4 x 4 vehicles over dirt, mulch, gravel, rocks, water, wood and asphalt. As if that's not enough entertainment, the interactive adventure zone will also include a 16-foot hill climb, a two-foot deep 15 x 20 foot water test and 12 x 15 foot section of terrain to simulate fallen logs measuring 18-inches in diameter.
"Every year the South Florida International Auto Shows offers visitors an experience to remember," said Cliff Ray, auto show coordinator. "This year is no exception as we planned and teamed up with DaimlerChrysler for Camp Jeep, which will give car buffs the ultimate test drive."
The Camp Jeep adventure is not limited to adults. Children who attend will also have their share of fun at the Jeep Kidz zone where they can have digital photos taken while test driving mini Jeep vehicles.
Camp Jeep's course construction and impressive simulation track will take eight days to prepare. More than 16,000 feet of electrical cabling, 85 cubic yards of rocks, boulders and gravel and 7,200 feet of graphic material will be used for theme and decor purposes to make this a one-of-a-kind experience.
Sponsors of the 36th annual South Florida International Auto Show include Allstate, XM Satellite Radio and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida.
