AZUSA, CA—Banks’ popular stainless-steel Monster exhaust system is now available for ’99-02 4.3L, 4.8L and 5.3L Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra gas-powered ½-ton pickups; a 6.0L version for ¾- and 1-ton trucks will be introduced in the near future. The 3-inch mandrel-bent pipes are formed of stainless, heavy-wall tubing and bolt behind the catalytic converter, slashing backpressure by up to 94%. Monster exhaust features Banks’ free-flowing, straight-through polished-stainless Monster muffler with very-high-temperature packing. Monster muffler more than doubles the stock flow, increasing it by 141%. Improving airflow and virtually eliminating backpressure allow the Silverado and Sierra to produce more power with less work, improving 0-60 mph acceleration times by up to 1/3 of a second (4.5% quicker).

Monster muffler was designed and sound-tested using advanced sound analysis equipment. As a result, it dissipates the annoying interior resonance that accompanies most straight-through mufflers, while producing a rich, throaty exhaust note that’s pronounced but never overpowering. For an eye-catching finish, Banks Monster exhaust system reveals a highly polished 6”X5” ob-round polished-stainless angle-cut rolled-edge tip (patent pending), which has no clamps because it’s welded on.
