Feb. 11, 2008 By ORC STAFF
This week we feature the members of the ATV Discussion Forum. From trails and race news to mechanical issues and youth riders, anything and everything gets discussed in the ORC forums.  Here’s a look at the Top 10 (Top Ten) ATV Discussion Threads, all about Quads and their owners.

atv1 - Yamaha Warrior won’t accelerate
“has anyone checked the accelerator "pump"?”

2 – ATV Raptor exhaust upgrade
“WOW, nice exhaust, I like it, it looks really nice on there, I bet that would be loud with an exhaust like that, I can see how nice that EFI would be, I have an 03 660r and its a pain to take those on and off.”

3 – Roll Call
“Who’s here, what do you ride and where do you ride it?”

4 – Good beginner quads
“If you have never ridden a quad I recommend looking at the Honda 300ex or Yamaha 350 raptor (was the warrior but now with a makeover and name change. Both are reasonable starting machines and should fit your size.”

5 - Some great off-road trail rides
Hey guys check this place out! Over 200 miles of riding!

6- Youth riders’ mechanical tips and tricks
“is this typhoon the same as the Baja? My 11 year old rides the wheels off of it. The frame has been busted three times at the swing arm connection, the clutch was toasted four times, the last time I replaced the motor with a thumper 125cc manual clutch unit, no more clutch trouble but the frame is really bugging me, I think because of the recreational type reservoir shocks, they just don't absorb the shock. These handle the corners awesome, too bad they can't take the abuse from an advanced rider…”

race7 – Good ATV Tires
“I am looking to put new tires on my ATV and wanted to get views on the best mud or intermediate tire. Riding is mostly trail with some mud holes, water.

I heard the Maxxis Mudzilla was a good tire? Appreciate any / all views – Thanks”

8 - Looking for a new ATV
“I recommend the Polaris sportsman 800. I have one and it compares to nothing I've ever ridden. The Polaris offers true 4 wheel drive with a flip of a switch while other brand you have to flip a switch then push a button to get the front differential to lock in…. …Polaris was by far the smoothest riding atv of all. Of course this was a all around test from rocks to hills to plowed fields. The sportsman felt like a Cadillac compared to others. If you like doing wheelies at all let me tell you how the sportsman will get away from you if you’re not careful. As far as options for Polaris, I suggest the glacier V-plow. Salty on price but really nice to have when pushing snow. The glacier system is incredibly fast to get on and off the atv. It is true when they say Polaris is the way out…”

9 - Best 450 Race quad
“The Honda actually has the best fit in finish. It's narrow so if you want a wide quad that would make it expensive. Its reliability has been proven by CT Racing Dominating the Score Championship for the last three years. The Honda needs a pipe and cam and it hauls ass….”

10  - Yamaha Blaster vs. Warrior
“I was just wondering, my best friend just got a 2003 Yamaha blaster and I have a 1994 Yamaha warrior. My warrior is all stock and my friends blaster has a high performance air filter other wise its all stock. What I was wondering was if we drag-raced each other which one would win…”
