3. Oregon Dunes, Oregon
The Oregon Dunes is always one of our favorite places to visit, not only because of the acres of open sand and tall dunes, but also because of its unique landscape.  Sand dunes are most commonly associated with deserts, but visitors to the Oregon Dunes will experience nothing of the sort.  The dunes are dotted with lush sea grass mixed in with some seasonal freshwater lakes and fir trees that stretch from the edge of the dunes as far as the eye can see.  Although the weather can be unpredictable at times, if you’re itching to ride some sand and want a change from the desert scenery, the Oregon Dunes is the place to go.

4. Paiute Trail System, Utah
Utah has two things going for it that very few states can match; the Rocky Mountains and relatively OHV friendly legislation.  Smack dab in the middle of the Rocky Mountains, The Paiute trail system contains hundreds of miles of marked and maintained trails and thousands more miles of trails open to offroad and other vehicle use.  The trails connect multiple towns where its perfectly legal to ride in to get gas, supplies or stay at a hotel but the view from 11,000 feet elevation and the incredible fall colors are what lands the Paiute trail at number four on our most scenic list.

5. Glamis, California
It’s hard to beat a Southern California sunset after a long day of duning with your friends and family. While most people consider the dry desert and 110 degree temperatures to be anything but picturesque, the multicolored painted sky over the dunes at Glamis is breathtaking.  Couple that with a clear blue sky and freshly blown sand dunes in the morning and it just doesn’t get much better than that for an off-road enthusiast.
