Oj Kowaniuk's '80 Polaris TX-L 340

Nov. 01, 2005 By ORC STAFF
Polaris Oj Kowaniuk, from Weldon Saskatchewan, wanted to share his custom machine with his fellow sledheads. Oj says:

The sled was purchased in '94 for $800, and it was not much of a sled. Since then the machine has been painted a few times, and rebuilt 3 times. It has an SLP 404 overbore kit, (which from my experience at least is about the hardest engine there is to get parts for!), and just added is a Polaris 20 tooth top drive gear replacing the old 19 tooth stock one. Future plans are to try UFO's and get hold of a P-85 drive clutch to replace the current Comet. Last year I recovered the seat added a 136" longtrack.

Oj has surprised a lot of people with this sled, including a "tweaked" '86 Polaris Ski Doo Formula Plus, and a '95 Arctic Cat Cougar. He challenges anyone with a 500cc or under sled. "I'll be waiting!" he says..... If you would like to find out more about Oj's sled, e-mail him at ojk@hotmail.com.

Update!!! Polaris

Oj sent in this new picture of his sled in action. Just goes to show there is a lot of life left in his custom TX-L!

Oj says he plans to send more pictures soon.
