Project Lowbucks: Taking Inventory

As with the frame, we resorted to liberal sprays with carb and contact cleaner. The stuff costs under two bucks can at Walmart and we can recommend it highly.

The inside of the carb body got cleaned out thoroughly.

The slide and carb were also thoroughly cleaned with parts cleaner as well.

Float bowl of the carb was removed by removing four screws.

A bunch of crud and debris was seen in the float bowl. Its a wonder the bike was able to start and run in this condition.

The main jet and jet holder were also covered with crud.

The screw on the bottom of the float bowl was full of rusty scum.

More contact spray was used on the float bowl.

A small brush was used to clean out the area underneath the floats.

Surprise, surprise! We found a good-sized hole in the bottom of the float bowl drain plug. This was another source of all the crud on the bike.

One final blast of contact cleaner was used on the completed carburetor.

Complete, clean and ready for installation.
