Cylinder

• Identical port specs and dimensions as 2001 KTM U.S. Motocross team bikes
• Eliminated the paper head gasket, ensuring a more accurate fit.
• More like the 250-380 head to cylinder O-ring sealing system.
• Controls compression ratio and cylinder-to-cylinder head fit.

Power Valve Control Flap

• New machining controls the distance from the main control flap to the piston.
• More consistent port shape and performance.

Crankcase Breather

• Located at the left upper control cover as opposed to the old location below the carburetor
• This higher position causes less oil blow by.

Shift Shaft

• Now supported by two (2) needle bearings. Improves full throttle shifting.
• Improved bearing on the right for the main shaft.

Suspension:
Front Forks

• New 48 mm USD forks.
• More rigid.
• Derived from the "WORKS" fork.
• Equipped with external preload adjusters (one on each side).

Shock Absorbers (WP)

• Adjustable high and low speed compression damping.
• More shaft travel.
• Upper shock body is now forged instead of cast.
• New valving.

Chassis:
Sidestand

• Bigger, Badder, Better Bolt.

Swingarm

• Improved design at the rear axle mounts.
• Minimizes flex and twisting of the entire swingarm and improves overall performance.

Graphic Design

• Seat is still two-toned, but with a new manufacturing process.
• Rear fender and side panel are BLACK.
• Spoiler, light mask, and front fender are ORANGE.
• Spoiler logo is the same as 2001 but with more wear resistance.
