Morelia, Michoacan – Mexico’s KTM Red Bull rider Homero Diaz was victorious at the first two rounds of the Mexican Enduro Championship after winning both days to take the win and the points lead in the E2 class. His teammate, Refugio Garcia, rode a strong race to finish second in the competitive E1 class.

Homero Diaz, aboard his KTM 450EXC, easily won the first two rounds of the 14-round Mexican Enduro Championship Series. Diaz’ win marked the first win in three years in the premier class for the KTM brand.

“I had a great race, my KTM 450EXC performed perfectly and allowed me to easily extend my lead from the first special test through the end of the race,” said Diaz after the race. “I am pleased with the way the KTM Red Bull Team worked this weekend and I am grateful for their support.”

In the E1 class, Garcia had a good battle with local rider Jean Paul Medina for the lead but eventually settled into the second place position. Garcia raced the KTM 250 XC-FW and was very satisfied with his result in his first race with the new team.

“My KTM was prepped correctly for the race conditions and I rode a smooth race with no crashes,” he said. “It was a long battle with Medina, and next time hopefully it will be me finishing in the number-one spot.”
