6:30AM

The morning in Ensenada is about 65degrees with slight fog.  Off the START the first dirtbike 2x ridden by Damon Cardon.  The mouth of the canal is already lined with hundreds of off-road fans cheering on the first motorcycles to take on the 39th SCORE Tecate Baja 1000.

7:00AM - There is reports of a Trophy truck rolled over on the course at Mile 18. What the heck was he doing out there this morning?

7:29AM

Team Can-Am/EPIC 1A ridden by Josh Frederick comes off the line with an aggressive start. They hit the dirt in their fully customized Can-Am Renegade quad running custom EPIC suspension and Bilstein Shocks.

8:00AM

Jesse James is debuting in a new Porter built Trophy Truck.  Apparently James blew the engine yesterday while pre-running/testing.  The West Coast Choppers crew pulled the engine out, and it was flown to California to be worked on.  It was back early this morning and the truck was running again by 5:30am.  The West Coast Choppers Trophy Truck made it to the AM Tech Inspection and will be ready to race later today.

SIDE-note

The DIRTsports Class 11 Elf charity car did not get finished until early this morning.  Chris Corbett and crew finally got it to Tech Inspection at 6:00am.  They were bumped to a Sportsman Class (1400) because their bumpers are not to SCORE code.  They are trying to petition to race in Class 11 with the rest of the 11 cars.  The racing class 11 field is with them on this; we will keep you posted on what SCORE decides.

The now re-numbered bug, #1471 is being driven by Chris Corbett DIRTsports and Clifton Slay from Poison Spyder Customs. Some conflicting numbers there. Weatherman feed is working, not well, but working. The Vizcaino feed seems to have some chatter on it.
.Marc Choquette
update 10:01- Looks to be a good battle between the 1a Can Am pro team of Josh Fredericks and the LKH 4a Honda 450r of Jeff Hancock.Hancock passed Fredericks about 200 miles back and put a good lead on Fredericks. Since night has fallen, this seems to favor the Can Am rider who has reeled in the Honda. Going into the mountains now, towards La Purisima, both bikes are within a few miles of each other. Jeff can look over his shoulder and probably see the headlights of the Can Am. Great racing. Its great to be able to see this unfold with the Iritrack system.
Marc Choquette

Great to hear they are back on the road with the Honda TRX 450r.
Marc Choquette

Marc Choquette
update 10:47- The 1a Can Am of Josh Fredericks/Tony Baker just passed the 4a of Jeff Hancock. He worked on him for a long time. Been hearing The Weatherman on the La Paz feed. Sounds better then the Vizcaino feed.
