For the inaugural SCORE Imperial Valley 250 this weekend, SCORE elected to have both Trophy Trucks and Class 1 cars qualify for starting positions in Saturday’s race. Steven Eugenio posted the fastest time of the qualifying session at 5 minutes and 53.65 seconds on the 6.5-mile section on the infield of the racecourse. Andy McMillin, filling in for Rob MacCachren this weekend, posted the second-fastest time of 5 minutes and 58.20 seconds, while BJ Baldwin rounded out the top three with a time of 6 minutes and 6.40 seconds.
For Class 1 racers, Justin Matney posted the fastest time at 6 minutes and 18.92 seconds. Paul Keller was the next fastest at 6 minutes at 49.99 seconds, while Brady Turner posted the third-fastest time at 6 minutes and 54.10 seconds.
The new Imperial Valley 250 race on the SCORE schedule will have racers run three 82-mile laps for the total of 246 miles in Plaster City, California. Motorcycles, ATVs and UTVs will head off the line at 6 a.m. tomorrow morning, while cars and trucks will head off the line at 1 p.m. Check back for a full recap of the event on Off-Road.com.
