Besting a stacked field of unlimited trucks and buggies, Dale Dondel posted the fastest qualifying lap time for this weekend’s Mint 400 off-road race at the Method Wheels Time Trials. Qualifying was held on a course in Primm, Nevada, just in front of the Buffalo Bills Hotel and Casino at the California-Nevada state line, and there were a total of 77 racers vying to post the quickest time.

Aside from starting Saturday’s Mint 400 race with clean air, Dondel’s time of 4 minutes and 7.27 seconds also earned him a $5,000 check from Method Wheels. Finishing just behind Dondel was Las Vegas local BJ Baldwin with a time of 4 minutes and 8.5 seconds. Rounding out the top three was another Unlimited Truck in Luke McMillin with a time of 4 minutes and 9.46 seconds.

Eduardo Laguna was the fastest of the Unlimited Buggies (Class 1500) with his time of 4 minutes and 12.62 seconds. The next fastest Class 1500 racer was Scott Bailey (4:15:717), and rounding out the top three buggies was Sam Berri (4:16:516).
