Xtrac '383' Off Road Gearbox

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

September 21st, 2005

Xtrac are pleased to announce the release of a new transmission designed
specifically for the off road desert racing market. Xtrac is the world leader in motorsports transmissions and supplier to the Dakar Rally, World Rally Car, Formula 1, Indycar, Sportscar, Touring Car and Super / Motocross
markets to name but a few.

Xtrac has developed a new 6 speed, sequential shift transaxle for Class 1
and 10 off-road vehicles. This transmission is built on technology Xtrac has
gained through their many years of desert and off-road racing in events such
as the legendry Dakar Rally and the World Rally Championships. This
transmission shares much of its gear train and shifting system with gearboxes which have won these events multiple times. The stock transmission (pictured) has a class leading width across the 935
type flanges of only 8.74", and mates to interchangeable adapter plates to
suit different installations. The gearbox is fitted with a 9.6" hard cut bevel final drive wheel, run with 0.785" of positive hypoid offset which gives incredible strength, rivaling even the reserves of Xtrac's successful Trophy Truck rear end bevel gears. Lubrication is via an internal pump, reverse is dog type for fast, effective engagement and a Ramp Plate Differential (which can be configured as fully open) is fitted as standard. The sequential shifting can be effected by either a manual lever or

pneumatic cylinder option at no extra cost. All this on a transaxle that is delivered with customer specified ratios at less than 170lbs total! Xtrac
are also able to offer different options of output flanges, and in the future, further options on limited slip differentials and lightweight casings.

Available accessories include a Shifter Assembly, and Gear Position Display
that changes intensity, dependent upon ambient light conditions. Details on
these and Xtrac in general can be found at www.xtrac.com/inc
