Nine laps later on the 1.47 mile off-road track Mason crossed the finish line 11.15 seconds ahead of his nearest competitor and claimed the Championship Title. This win was Mason’s first career win in a Super Buggy and the first win for a Honda powered machine in the history of the BorgWarner Championships and the CORR Series. During the post race interviews Mason stated “I had the best start of my life, It’s unbelievable, once you get out in front, there’s no one to contend with. You just run your lines, hit your marks and you come home a winner”. Mason also thanked Goodyear for providing tires with the grip he need to win.

Under the banner of Mason Motorsports, Mason has been racing his Super Buggy in the CORR Series for 5 years. Mason’s Super Buggy, a 1997 JIMCO chassis, is powered by a 4 cylinder, 1600cc Honda, B16A engine.
