BFGoodrich ® Tires Dominates the Desert in the Vegas to Reno Race
For more than 30 years, BFGoodrich Tires has used motorsports as a proving ground
Obstacles such as dry weather, glaring sun and heavy dust all posed a threat to BFGoodrich drivers who roared across Nevada’s desert floor. Yet no obstacle proved too difficult for Class 1400 racers, Brian Collins and Larry Ragland, whose trick-truck passed the finish line with lighting fast speed with a time of 9:51:07, earning the Overall class title. The following is a complete list of class winners for the 2006 Best in the Desert Vegas to Reno event:
BFGoodrich Tires team drivers, Brian Collins and Larry Ragland, battled through more than 600 miles of the dust-filled desert finishing just ahead of competing BFGoodrich Tires team drivers Garron Cadiente and Chris Godfrey, who took a close second-place overall just seven minutes, 29 seconds behind Collins and Ragland. “Like most off-road, desert races, it was BFGoodrich battling BFGoodrich for the victory,” said Todd Steen, motorsports marketing manager for BFGoodrich Tires. “The BitD Vegas to Reno race is tailor-made for BFGoodrich Tires – it’s more than 600 miles of tough, grueling and demanding terrain. We’re very pleased to have the top two fastest teams and several of the class winners.” BFGoodrich Tires combines technological expertise with vast motorsports experience, delivering a high-performance tire for every type of vehicle from ultra-high performance tuner vehicles, sports cars and SUVs to the hottest sport trucks, pickups and rock-crawling rigs in the world.
