2019 Ram 1500 Mopar

At this year’s SEMA show in Vegas, FCA showed off over 200 Mopar accessories for its new JL Wrangler. Now, they’re rolling out the catalog for the snazzy 2019 Ram 1500 as well.

Ram Truck and Mopar teamed up today at the Chicago Auto Show to debut an outdoor-themed 2019 Ram 1500 modified with a raft of new Mopar parts and accessories now available for the truck. Despite the model only being officially shown to the public less than one month ago, FCA has quickly ramped up the number of baubles and bolt-ons offered for their newest truck.

There’s no shortage of off-road gear, with a 2-inch Mopar lift kit delivering additional off-road clearance and an aggressive appearance. It jacks the Ram skyward enough to accommodate oversize, large tread 35-inch tires. Slick 18-inch, beadlock-capable wheels with matching trim rings are shown in the new-for-’19 six lug configuration.

Beadlocks, as you likely know, keep tires pegged to the rims when aired down for increased off-road grip and traction. Plus, they look the business.

Black Mopar off-road wheel flares accentuate the knobby tires and provide additional protection against sharp rocks and Arizona pinstriping. Running boards are already listed as being available in the 2019 Ram build & price tool, but these Mopar units have a skid-resistant stepping surface that offers better grip in muddy or wet conditions.

“At the Chicago Auto Show, Mopar is showcasing the art of the possible when it comes to accessorizing the all-new Ram 1500,” said Pietro Gorlier, Head of Parts and Service (Mopar), FCA. “With more than 200 parts and accessories, available at launch, Mopar delivers the largest array of factory-backed, authentic products to personalize the new Ram 1500 and make it truly one of a kind.”

A neat addition is the RamRack, designed to work with the Ram’s bed rails to accommodate long items like kayaks or jumbo loaves of garlic bread. Adjustable by way of a series of sliders, the RamRack first showed up on a concept truck at SEMA a couple of years ago.

Not all the new Mopar gear is for looks; there’s a host of performance upgrades as well. A Ram Airflow cold-air intake system feeds a steady flow of fresh air to the truck’s HEMI V8, providing a theoretical bump in power even if the manufacturer hasn’t yet mentioned specific numbers of improvement.

The Ram Airflow should pair well with Mopar’s newly crafted cat-back exhaust built for the Ram. Five-inch chrome exhaust sewer cannons poke out underneath the rear bumper when the Mopar exhaust is installed. So equipped, it is likely to sound like a NASCAR stocker.

These efforts by FCA to encourage customers to accessorize their trucks before they even leave the showroom makes a lot of sense. The aftermarket industry is a huge (and profitable!) business, so it’s logical for Ram to use it as a way to line its coffers.

It’ll also likely boost the Ram 1500’s reported average transaction price, as all these accessories will be listed on the window sticker. The finance office will make out like bandits, too, as customers will be able to roll their accessory expenditure into the truck’s note, allowing FCA’s captive finance arm to make bank in the form of extra interest.

The Chicago Auto Show is open to the public until February 20th.
