As somewhat of a preview to the Stadium Super Trucks race Friday evening after the 2013 SEMA Show concludes, Team Toyo Off-Road brought out some of its notable off-road racers to host a demo this week called the Team Toyo Truck-Off. Slated as an event with “no money, no champagne, no trophy,” the racers hopped behind their Stadium Super Trucks and still drove like they were in a real competition, giving the SEMA crowd, some of whom had never seen off-road race trucks in action, a demonstration of just what they could do on the Ford Out Front track in front of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The racers at the demo included Robby Gordon, Kyle LeDuc, BJ Baldwin and Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg, who were tearing around the track with 600-horsepower Stadium Super Trucks, jumping off the jump in the center of the track, spinning donuts, and charging over whoop rhythm sections, all while smoking the Toyo open Country tires on their trucks to the crowd’s delight.
Although it wasn’t a race but more of a popularity contest to see who the crowd cheered the most for, the unofficial vote came down to LeDuc and Gordon, though every driver had their moments of hearing roars from the crowd.
Tonight Robby Gordon’s Stadium Super Trucks series will hold a race out in front of Caesar’s Palace on the strip. Be sure to check back with Off-Road.com for coverage of the event. Also, be sure to check out our full 2013 SEMA Show coverage here.
