2014 Polaris Ranger Lineup

The 2014 Polaris Ranger family

Polaris’ popular Ranger utility side-by-sides get some major updates for 2014. The Ranger Crew 900 will now be powered by the 60-horsepower ProStar 900 engine, which will be replacing the 760cc inline twin found on the 2013 model. The Ranger Crew 900 also features a new high-capacity battery and stator.

A new cab and chassis compliment the new powerplant on the Crew 900. The completely redesigned cockpit is designed to more comfortably fit five people. It features a new center console that offers more storage and cup holders. The new cab also offers integrated Lock & Ride PRO-FIT cab accessories.

The all-new chassis is more to be more rigid with its increased torsional stiffness. Polaris says the change will provide a smoother ride, reduce vibration and allow the unit to more confidently tackle challenging terrain. The Ranger Crew 900 is available with or without electronic power steering. It features 5 inches more wheelbase, an additional 1 inch of rear suspension travel (10 inches of travel available front and rear in 2014).

Other new units in Polaris’ 2014 lineup include the Ranger 570 EFI and Ranger Crew 570 EFI. These vehicles come with On-Demand True All-Wheel Drive with VersaTrac, independent rear suspension, high-ground clearance and the longest suspension travel in its class (8 inches in the front, 9 inches in the rear). The Ranger 570s also get a new liquid-cooled, single-cylinder 570 engine that delivers 40 horsepower, which is a 25% increase over the previous model.

Both the new midsize Rangers come with a larger stator that delivers 29% more electrical power. They also feature a 500-pound bed capacity, a 1250-pound towing capacity, a rear dump box with gas assist and Lock & Ride cargo system. As Polaris notes, the mid-sized Ranger 570 EFI fits in the bed of many full-sized trucks.

The midsize and midsize multi-passenger limited-edition models will feature electronic power steering for the first time in 2014, including the Ranger 800 EPS Midsize, Ranger 570 EPS and Ranger CREW 570 EPS models. Polaris will also offer limited-edition models in 2014 in the Ranger XP 900 EPS, Ranger 800 EPS and Ranger Crew 900 EPS.
